for the fans

I promised over on my Facebook fan page that I would have a give-away here if I made it over 500 fans. I'm a bit past that now, so here we go!

Gilda - also has a yellow knit vest

I've decided that the give-away prizes will be the fabric toys that have been hanging around my Etsy shop forever. I made these critters ages ago, when I was experimenting with fabric toy design. I only sold 2 of those I made, and I feel bad that these others never found a good home (they're just lounging in a box in the basement, poor things).

Callum

So to enter the give-away, just leave a comment on this post, telling me which toy you would like and why. I'll select the winners on Monday, August 3.

Betsy

As with my other give-aways, it works better if you leave a name, and email address if you feel safe doing so. If you don't leave your email address, remember to check back here in a week!

  5. Well first of all, I don't know why these little guys didn't find a home - I have Flossie the lamb and my daughter just loves her! And, we would love for her to have a friend - Gilda's adorable, but Callum would be more than welcome too :) Thanks for the chance to win and congrats on your milestone!

  17. Gilda's my favorite, probably because we have bunnies as pets.

    Thanks for the giveaway!!

  19. These are so sweet - I'm suprised they didn't sell. Gilda is my favorite (it's the little circle face that does it for me) but Betsy is a very close second (I adore her little outfit)

  29. Gilda is truly precious, and it puts me in awe that not many people have commented in her favor. I always go for the precious babies that no else wants. :) Callum and Betsy have received so many requests! It must be hurting Gilda's feelings. So I would like her to know, that there IS someone who wants her. :)

  37. My sister would love Callum (I've looked at him in your shop)! But I think Ellie would love Gilda (she has a little bit of a rabbit thing).

If I really am picking for my self, Betsy is my favorite! Especially since Ellie has brought out my inner Mama Bear. Betsy would remind me of the sweeter side of bears (the side that eats honey not people).

They would all find good homes here!

  43. Looks like Callum is the favourite - mine too, tho' I can't see why they didn't go. I don't knit in the round yet but how thoughtful of you to do that. And also thanks for the little Aliens. My grandson was asking me to knit him a small monster and this just fits the bill. Have two rabbts ready to sew up for forthcoming birthdays. A white one with a lilac dress (I have tried to include lilac shoes. A bit like cotton rabbits - not overly successful but look ok) and a floppy eared caramel coloured one with a green dress.pantha at fsmail dot net

  44. My three granddaughters were visting this week - ages 7 yrs, 5 yrs, and 9 weeks. The two older ones saw me reading your blog and said they would like all three animals as it would be one for each and "they wouldn't have to share"....kids.... My favorite is Betsy. Reason being - at age 61 I still have the cat and dress/slip my grandmother made for me in the early 50s. It it my most prized childhood possession.

  45. i would love Callum i have had my eye on him from the very beginning. He is so cute and i love that he looks so squishy. Every time i go to your etsy store and see him im so tempted to buy but since im tight on money can never justify it. I love thats he is plaid and that his personality is so boyish. When i read your post and saw that i may no longer have a chance to buy him made me a bit sad.

  57. i would love to have gilda! my younger son, now 3, was born with cleft lip/cleft palate, and also born on Easter. since that day, he has been known to us as "the bunny" and has a small collection going of bunnies! they don't sit on shelves and collect dust, either, he loves on his bunnies as often as posible! i think he would love to add gilda and her knitted vest a home in his collection!

  58. It's so sweet of you to have a giveaway for your leftover toys - I always feel bad for toys and dolls at stores that don't sell, and often find myself buying ones that are broken or missing a part just because I feel like they must feel dejected when no one buys them. I'll usually do my best to fix them when I take them home!

I would love any of these beautiful dolls, but Callum the squirrel has especially won my heart - he has such a sweet little face, and looks like he just wants to give you a big hug :)

  60. I posted this originally on facebook, but I think I need to post it here.

My favorite is Gilda. When my best friend/ boyfriend was diagnosed with brain cancer about a year ago, the first thing I did was knit him a brown bunny (our favorite animal) from one of your patterns. He kept her with him until December 4th 2008, the day that he died. His parents were going to bury her with him, but they decided to hold onto it.

Now every time I think about rabbits, I think of him. I'm knitting some animals from your pattern to donate to children at Childrens Hospital, but I have to give them all away. Gilda would be a great companion for me when I visit Jonathan's grave, or when I knit more cuddly softies. She could be one for me to keep.

  61. Callum is the best! Love Gilda too.
But Callum pulls at my heartstrings, as I am one of those crazy squirrel people who feeds them. My backyard is full of them now, and they actually scold me when the feeder's are empty. My daughter love to watch them whenever she can but cant hold them or cuddle them but I think Callum who be the most excellent stand in. Would love to be able to get a photo of Callum with his "wild" cousin's, I can see a story developing there! LOL!
Best of luck to all who enter, anyone of us who enter would be privileged to receive any Barbra Prime original! Fuzzy Mitten Is AWESOME!
