For those of you who haven't seen the photos on flickr already, I will introduce to you Vanya, Leva, and Petya (or Ivan, Leo, and Peter, in English). These fellows are the three prototypes for my new toy design! Sometimes, when I get inspired, I can't help but knit as fast as I can to get the idea out of my head and into something I can hold. It was like that with these toys - everything unnecessary was put on hold until I could get them done (including housework, cooking, and exercising, but not my baby).
I had planned to publish the Mama and Baby Bunny pattern on March 1, but since there is so much interest in this new pattern, I might publish it first and delay the other pattern for a few months. I need to get the new pattern tested, or at least proof-read, then it should be ready for you by the middle of March. Plenty of time for you to knit some bunnies for Easter. I would love to see some in bright, Spring colours!
I also have an idea for another toy that's been in the back of my mind for a year now. I'd really like to submit a pattern to Knitty, and I think this idea would be perfect because it's very different but really fun too. However, it means I have to work on it in secret, either until I find out it's not accepted or until it's released. Since I'm planning to submit it for the Winter issue, that won't be until December! Hopefully you will all be busy enough knitting up my other patterns that you can wait until then. I might have another pattern or two during the summer, if I find some good ideas and enough time to work on them.
Anyway, that's all for today. I hope you're all having a lovely Monday!
