I have an idea for a new pattern, and I'd like to try something a little different. Anyone who has been reading here for a while knows that I also love sewing. In fact, I was sewing toys many years before I even learned how to knit! I would like to design a little toy that would also incorporate a bit of fabric, and some very basic hand-sewing. But before I get too excited about it, I want to make sure it's something you'd be interested in. I would likely also include a variation that wouldn't need the fabric and sewing, so don't worry if you've never sewn anything. Anyway, I'd appreciate your input, if you care to comment or vote in the poll on the sidebar (it will be open until Jan 17).
If I do end up going ahead with the design, I'll try to post progress reports (mostly in case I need a bit of help figuring out how best to write sewing instructions!)

YES!!! Your designs are so lovely, it only follows that your incorporation of sewing and knitting would be wonderful, too!
I'd love to see what you come up with! I say go for it. :)
I would love to see it but I suck at hand sewing so I probably would not try it .
I always love seeing something new that inspired the designer.
Never second guess one of your ideas. You're very creative, so just go with it. I think it can be a positive step to change things up a bit. With interchangeable parts, you might get a bunch of seamstresses who don't knit following your line. It will broaden your fan base!
I would love to see something with both the sewing and knitting....you have no idea of the stash on both fabric and yarn most of us have!
Good idea!
I would love it. I love to sew and knit and it would be fun for me to coordinate to baby or kiddie clothes.
why not? try it! the response and sales will tell you how you hit the market, plus you will get introduced to another type of crafters :)
it is all good :)
I think that knitted puppies with sewn clothes are adorable. And thanks for the lamb pattern!
I'd love to see what you have in mind even though I'm not a seamstress. Have you dropped in on the blog Green Rabbit Designs, the designer crochets rabbits and dresses them using handknit cardigans and sewn dresses. They look good and she seems to sell them all over the world.

I like the idea. It seems like it would be fun and add a greater variety of textures.
Thanks for asking
