Having a little baby sure doesn't leave a lot of time for blogging! I have been thinking about you guys, though. Thanks for all the lovely comments on the new toy! I really love them too, and can't wait to share the pattern. I'll be deciding this weekend how to organize the test knitting, and hopefully I can get the pattern all ready for you by mid-March. I think Spring solstice would be a fitting date for the pattern release.
I've also been thinking about putting together some more kits. In light of the difficult economic times that are affecting a lot of people, I'm thinking of making some less expensive kits. What would you think of kits with a tote bag or zip pouch, a single pattern, and yarn for the pattern? I'm not quite sure of the cost right now, because it depends on the cost of the materials for the bags. I will probably redesign them to use less fabric, but they will still be sturdy and well-made, as before. I was thinking it would be fun to make up a bunch for the new pattern. I would include a bunch of fun yarns for one raggedy toy, which you could use all up for one toy, or put together with your own yarn to make 2 or 3 toys. Please let me know what you think in the comments, so I can start planning what to do next week!

I love your kits, Barbara, but there are ways to bring the cost down.
Would you consider switching to a paper bag and including a set of bunny patches to sew on or iron on later?
Or how about a simple drawstring bag to use as a gift bag after the toy is done? I have sources if you need them.
I love kits. I have just bought one for a hot water bottle cover. I am not sure my knitting is up to the required standard to make your lovely toys but would have a go!
I am always on the look out for bag patterns too!

i LOVE the idea of kits for the new pattern! It would be so fun to purchase one and see what types of scraps we get ...it would be like a little mystery!
I think that a kit sounds like a fun idea! It would be fun to see which yarns were included with the pattern!
I think a kit would be fantastic! and it is even better if you pick out the yarn! I would totally get a kit if you put one together with a tote and pattern.
OOoooh, that sounds nice.. I'm a terrible procrastinator because it takes me forever to decide on yarn for a project... but you have great taste and scraps sounds fabulous!
You should get your clever Mr.Icon to put up a fun poll for this question!
Sounds like a great idea! It would be fun to get a kit with fixings for the new pattern, and I can always use another tote.
Love the idea...love all your patterns!

I think kits are a great idea! I don't think people mind paying $15-$20 us dollars?
Thanks for the sweet little puppy, too! I'm going to take some photos and put him on my blog sometime soon!
Thanks again!
I think a kit for the new patterns with the yarn would be great - everyone has a stash of their own but it would be great fun to see what you would pick to make the toys from. Plus our finished product would look a little more like what you designed - I think it would be great. The bags don't have to be too large - just big enough to hold an on the go project like your toys - I use a simple draw string bag for socks and toys I take with me to my kids events and I love them!
Hugs for baby Lev!
The Idea is really incredible and a lots of love for your Barbara......
I required a stunning idea from your post..i'll definitely try this in my turn..........
If the goal is cutting cost to the customer, is a bag necessary?
